Eugene Smith, a venerable icon of the Canadian music industry.
The musician was raised on the good stuff growing up in Toronto. His father, Al Lucas, was a stand-up bass player for icons like Duke Ellington and James Brown. His mother, Valerie Abbot, was a jazz pianist and vocalist asked to tour with Louis Armstrong.

Smith is known for his unique 4-string tenor guitar and also plays a variety of other instruments including harmonica, kalimba, jaw harp, and djembe. In the 1960's, he would tour Canada and the United States with Ronnie Hawkins and the infamous Hawks. Since then, he's shared the stage with artists such as: Gordon Lightfoot, K.D. lang, Bo Didley, John Lee Hooker, The Beach Bouys, The Dave Clark Five, and many others.
After over 50 years in the Canadian music industry, Smith is an icon himself, having penned over 200 original songs. He brings his prodigious vocal talents, solid rhythms, and humorous and entertaining style, to every unique performance.
